FILM AND LAW PRODUCTIONS
creates and presents stories as vibrant retellings of law’s stories – stories that bring us back from law’s abstractions to the real, from law’s generalities to the particular, the personal - in Eudora Welty’s words - to "each other's presence, each other's wonder, each other's human plight."
KATE NACE DAY and her husband RUSSELL G. MURPHY, Professors of Law at Suffolk University Law School, started FILM AND LAW PRODUCTIONS in 2011. Kate is a first-time filmmaker and longtime teacher of the civil, constitutional and international human rights of girls and women, including victims of sex trafficking. In 2013, she was honored as one of Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s Top Women of Law. Kate received her JD at University of California School of Law at Berkeley (Boalt Hall).
Russ is the author of VOICES OF THE DEATH PENALTY DEBATE: A CITIZEN'S GUIDE TO CAPITAL PUNISHMNENT and numerous articles on criminal law, admiralty and treasure hunting, international human rights, and federal civil procedure. He is the former Director of Suffolk's Foreign Law Study Summer Program at the University of Lund in Lund, Sweden, where he also taught international human rights. He is a regular lecturer at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.
