A CIVIL REMEDY presents the story of one American girl who survived America’s sex trade. The film advocates for the right of victims to sue perpetrators for money damages.
In 2018, the text of the film was updated to reflect changes in the law. Federal law now treats internet service providers who facilitate sex trafficking and pimping as perpetrators of sex trafficking, just like purchasers, pimps and profiteers.
A CIVIL REMEDY received the Media Award of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys (MATA) and the Exceptional Merit in Media Award of the National Women’s Political Caucus – an EMMA.
